Will The Solar Facility Impact My Taxes?

No. The solar facility will pay property taxes, both real and personal property taxes. As noted above, the research shows no material impact - increase or decrease - to adjacent and surrounding property values and thus no impact to the property tax liability.

The use of the land as a solar facility will result in increased tax revenue for Georgetown County, estimated at approximately $60 million over the operational life of the solar facility. This tax revenue will be used at the discretion of the County Council to support needs in the community, just as any other property tax dollars paid to the County.
